DID YOU KNOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF BOILER ERROR CODES ARE RELATED TO DRAFT?

It is important to design the venting system at the same time as an appliance is selected as the venting layout can drastically affect an appliance’s ability to operate.  An appliance’s installation and operation manual provides a performance guarantee and guidelines on venting requirements.  However, many times, despite these stipulations, they often encourage the help of a venting specialist to design the venting system based on the appliance’s operational parameters.

Without an engineered design, you could have the following issues:

With an engineered design using our manufacturers (Security, Duravent, AMPCO, and Heatfab, in their respective territories), we can predetermine the appropriate lengths, diameters, and layout to accommodate the job site for numerous appliances including boilers, hot water tanks, generators, process ovens and humidifiers.

In the extreme case, we can even offer an Enervex mechanical draft system for continuous modulation of flue gases.

Some advantages of the Enervex system include:

  • Reduction of vent diameter.
  • Maintaining a desired vent route which may not be achievable via natural draft.
  • Maintaining historical facades without the need for intrusive dismantling or renovation.
  • Combine different appliances together which is not possible under natural draft.

The heart of the Enervex system lies in the constant monitoring of the stack pressure.  Regardless of the types of appliances or layout, the stack probe measures the pressure within the vent and relays the information back to the modulating draft controller.  As the demand increases causing a higher volume of flue gas and pressure to enter the system, the draft controller determines how high the fan needs to run to satisfy the set pressure point and the fan ramps up or down immediately to satisfy the change in pressure.  This constant modulation is what sets the Enervex system apart from any other venting system.

At Enviroair Industries, we strive to provide the best engineered solutions to your commercial HVAC requirements.  Our dedicated venting team will analyze a venting layout to determine what is the best course of action to ensure a functional, guaranteed venting system whether it is natural draft or when not possible, mechanical draft system.  We can help determine the proper vent dimensions suitable for whatever appliances your job site may have as well as provide draft calculations to show the total pressure within a vent system satisfies a boiler’s operational requirements.
