PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 

The Project Manager is responsible for the seamless execution of the projects assigned to him/her, from design to release of the specified equipment. He or she is also responsible for being the main point of contact between the clients and our manufacturers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and optimize ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and, heating systems through the selection of equipment for the various products represented by the company.
  • Provide technical support to our customers during the review of engineering documents including drawings, selections, as well as technical plans and specifications.
  • Prepare bids (BOM), make take-offs and, cost estimates.

  • Participate in the negotiation of projects.
  • Produce drawings for approval and follow up closely with the client.

  • Respond to technical questions and installation problems from contractors.

  • Attend training at the office as well as in the factories of the manufacturers, as part of continuing education (hours counted for the OIQ, PEO (Professional Engineers of Ontario)) and any other engineering associations in Atlantic.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a college diploma in building engineering.
  • Relevant HVAC experience is an asset.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Follow-up and management of startups and training.
  • Follow-up of warranty files and litigation with customers and manufacturers.
  • Management of market entry reports and approval forms.

You will be in constant interaction with management, with the technical sales department, with the parts department as well as with all our contractors and our engineer customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and manage the schedules and calendar for the technicians and/or subcontractors.
  • Respond and dispatch after-sales support requests by phone and email.
  • Obtain and provide to the technicians the information and documents necessary for the work to be performed.
  • Evaluate and prioritize emergencies.
  • Compiling & proof reading start up reports, save all documents in our internal project folder and submit as builds to the end-user(s).
  • Perform COST TECH verifications and coordinate with the Project Managers to close the financial file of the projects (hold back for startup).
  • In collaboration with the after-sales Director & technical Directors, participate in resolving problematic projects related to aftermarket services.
  • Work closely with the After-sales Director to document all the communications, documents, technical information as well as all related fees when it comes to major Problem jobs.
  • Work closely with the warranty department for all applied projects that our techs are involved with; and if we need to return to the job site.
  • Follow up and stay up to date with all ERP tasks concerning PROBLEM JOBS and STARTUPS.
  • When required, quote and invoice support calls or wasted job site time.
  • Respond to various questions or requests from internal staff and external customers (internal representatives, technicians, warranty clerk and/or parts department)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • DVS or DCS in building mechanics, an asset or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in the HVAC field or as a dispatch in a similar sector
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Word
